Fire crews from the Mountain Home Rural Fire Department and the BLM responded to a brush fire a few miles north of Mountain Home on Wednesday evening that was apparently caused from gunfire.

Fire Chief Phil Gridley estimated that approximately 10 acres of grass and brush burned in an area north off Canyon Creek Road and the fire was believed to be caused from the discharge of firearms being used for target practice.

Most of the fire was contained within two hours and Gridley did not know if any citations would be issued by BLM to those responsible for starting the fire.
