Optimist teams battle to close games

There were some exciting football games last Saturday in Optimist Football, with a couple Mountain Home teams picking up wins.

In the Freshman (9-year-olds) Division, C-2 Construction picked up its first win of the season, beating Angel's Bar, 32-0. Moxie Java-TCBY lost to Rhino Sports, 24-6.

In the Sophomore (10-year-olds) Division, Johnson Brothers Hospitality picked up its first win, beating Farm Bureau, 12-6.

In the Junior (11-year-olds) Division, Mountain Home Physical Therapy dropped a tough game in overtime to Kituku, 26-20.

In the Senior (12 year-olds) Division, Master Electric lost to Money Express, 24-8.

In Flag Football (7- to 8-year-olds), Thrifty Car Sales faced Viking Drive Inn, and Mountain Home Auto Ranch took on Meridian Maroon. Elmore Medical was to play Nampa Paving, but Nampa Paving did not show up. No scores are kept in Flag Football.
