Youth soccer has tough week with all teams losing games

Mountain Home Youth Soccer teams endured a tough week as they went down to defeat in all of their contests.

The U14 Boys midweek game against Vallivue/Caldwell found the team down 3-1 at the whistle, with Mike Daniels scoring off a Brent Sexauer assist. Coach Rob Daniels said Saturday's match against Ida-Ore Xtreme "was the best team effort we have played yet this season and it was a tough one to lose"-- United came up short in the 4-3 loss.

The U13 Boys were outmatched by a Real Boise team that had superior speed and passing skills. Despite 10 attempts on goal by Austin Lucas, most of the action occurred on the opposite end of the field, with Tiger goalie Jack Richelieu getting a workout as he was credited with 27 saves.

Despite strong defense by Brenden O'Neill and Jacob Hedrick, several goals managed to get through and find the back of the net, blanking the Tigers in a 6-0 shutout.

Coach Lorri Crandall's U11 Glenn's Ferry girls had a rough day on the pitch, going down to defeat 7-2 against Caldwell, with Raegan Grigg and Kylie Carpenter providing the points for the Co-Pilots. "We're still learning and the girls are trying different positions to find where they are comfortable. We stepped the defensive pace up in the second half and were able to shut down more of the scoring attempts. My girls never quit and never gave up" said Coach Crandall.

The U12 Boys were defeated by Idaho Rush-White 6-0 at Aguirre Park. United was only down 1-0 at the half, with defenders Ben Klitzke and Tyler McCall turning away several Rush drives. But offensive pushes by Jacob Lucas, Austin Lee and Riley Adams were not enough as Rush surged ahead with five unanswered goals in the second half to seal the victory.

The Idaho Raptors dealt the third shutout defeat of the day to a Mountain Home team as the U14 Girls were unable to mount any strong offensive weapons to overcome the Raptor defense, falling 5-0.
