Stephen Quimby

Stephen Lee Quimby, 54, of Mountain Home died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, due to injuries received in an automobile accident on that date.

A celebration of Stephen's Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Ennis residence, located at 1966 SW Badger Pass off Highway 51 south of Mountain Home. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Stephen was born on Dec. 5, 1952, at Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Ala., to Vernon and Betty Quimby. He was schooled in Wisconsin and graduated from Grantsburg High School, then attended Rice Lake Votech school. After his schooling he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and traveled the world before retiring in 1997.

Stephen loved being in the outdoors, including camping and fishing, his family said, adding that he had a special love for animals. He also enjoyed dancing.

He was a member the American Legion and VFW.

Stephen moved to Mountain Home on Dec. 8, 2006, and worked as a contractor.

Stephen is survived by: his sister, Judith Olsen of Grantsburg, Wisc.; his brother, Thomas Quimby, of Grantsburg, Wisc.; his sister, Kim vanBommel of Los Angeles, Calif.; his stepsister, Ramona Ennis, of Mountain Home; two daughters, Jenni and Karey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Both of his parents and one niece preceded him in death.
