Wednesday, September 12, 2007

Mountain Home freshman football is off to a solid start this year, winning three straight games.

The team opened with Jerome, winning 16-14 with the winning TD made in the last few seconds of the game by a Colton Zamora catch in the back of the end zone for the win.

The team then faced Emmett in a tough game for the Tiger freshmen. Ty McRae had two fumble recoveries, John Payton had an interception he returned for a touchdown, and Aarick Johnson and Curtis Jackson both had what coaches described as "great running games."

The third game against Kuna was won 31-14. The first score of the game went to Kuna with a interception run back for the TD. That was the last time they scored until the Tiger second string took over late in the 4th quarter.

Deion Brown, Adam Miller, and Jamz Wright had key sacks in the game. Colton Zamora had two fumble recoveries. Aarick Johnson and Curtis Jackson both had "great running games" with Jackson scoring three touchdowns.

The team is coached by Andrew Bailey, Rick Suber, Brandon Watkins and Corey Boldin.

The next game is at home against Middleton on Thursday. Kick off is at 4 p.m.
