The Lady Tigers dropped a conference volleyball match to Emmett in three games in their conference opener last Tuesday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

Emmett broke open a close game in the first game, going on a 7-0 run to go up 18-9. The Lady Tigers never recovered, losing 15-25.

In the second game, Mountain Home took off from a 3-3 tie, going out to a 10-3 lead. Emmett fought back to tie the game at 16-16. The game was tied at 18, 19, 20 and 21, with Emmett scoring the final four points to win 25-21.

The third game had 11 ties, the last one at 17, and the Lady Huskies outscored Mountain Home 8-3 the rest of the way to claim game three, 25-20, and the match, 3-0.

"Definitely not the way you want to start your home opener," said Mountain Home Lady Tiger volleyball coach Sarah DeVore after the match. "We came out and started it off with a missed serve, and that just kind of indicated the kind of night we were going to have, just a lot of misplayed balls and a lot of unforced errors on our part, and Emmett definitely took advantage of it."

Brandie Riggs led the Lady Tigers with six assists, Emily Moranda and Chantell Crane both had six kills. Tawni Downen had 10 digs, Hannah Zamora had nine.
