Marge Cloudt.

Marjorie "Marge" A. (Harley) Cloudt, 84, of Mountain Home, died July 10, 2007, with her children by her side.

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, July 14, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Marjorie was born to Joe and Hermina (Caron) Harley on June 9, 1923, in Nampa. Raised in Bruneau, Marge developed an appreciation for life away from the farm. During those years, Marge participated in plays, sports, student activities, and made life-long friends in Bruneau.

After graduating in 1941, she went on to attend nurse's training at Mercy Hospital in Nampa.

In the fall of 1944 she married Stanley Cloudt.

During WWII, Marge used her nurse's training in the hospitals near Stan's Navel duty stations of Washington, D.C., and Long Beach, Calif.

After WWII they returned to Nampa, to start their family, before eventually moving to Mountain Home.

Although being a mother of six children was Marge's primary occupation, she found the time to fulfill her civic sense of duty by serving on the Hospital Board of Elmore Memorial and the American Legion Auxiliary.

With her insistence, and the help of her family, she and Stan started the Econ-o-Wash Laundromat.

Marge's nurse's training helped many, but none more than Stan after he suffered a severe stroke in 1979.

The "Golden Years" took them "Snowbirding" to Yuma Ariz. There they met many new friends, and enjoyed their time, but returned home in 1995 because they missed their family and life-long friends in Bruneau and Mountain Home. In their return, Marge and Stan were assisted in their lives by their children in Mountain Home.

After Stan's death, Marge moved to Bellevue, Wash., to be closer to her daughters in the area, before returning to Mountain Home a few years later. Upon her return, Marge's children continued helping with her care until the last few years, when Marge began residing at the Elmore Memorial Long-Term Care Unit where they helped her cope with her debilitating rheumatoid arthritis.

Marge is survived by: her five daughters, Susan, Janet, Caron, Denise, Debbie; a son, Bryan; her sisters, Erma Rae Kane, Jonee Grat, Caron Reed, and a brother, Jay Harley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stan Cloudt, and her two brothers, Danny Harley, and Bob Harley.
