Bradbury prefers Gomer Pyle for president

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

Dear editor:

He won't pick up the phone and free the border agents, imprisoned for doing what they're supposed to be doing.

He won't pick up the phone and free the eight Marines being court-martialed at Camp Pendleton for unintentionally killing some Iraqi civilians that were being used as human shields during a crossfire.

But he'll jump up to the plate and see to it that his CIA buddy Libby doesn't get hammered.

He speaks in a Washington D.C. mosque with known terrorist ties as they commemorate their 50th anniversary.

He was visibly as upset as Kennedy and Craig when his amnesty bill failed, thanks to a tidal wave of Americans who were NOT asleep, and flooded Capitol Hill with e-mails and jammed their switchboards with phone calls. About 16 senators thought more of protecting their jobs, than they did of their fellow bureaucrats.

It was a win for every free-thinking American, but yet a travesty that you have to threaten Congressmen with their jobs in order for them to do the right thing.

Back to Bush. Our guys sit in jail, others go on trial, but Libby goes free. How much more has to happen? There is an old adage you King George supporters would do well to remember. "There are none so blind as those who will not see."

Inept as this administration is, I have never aided with those who have called for impeachment, mostly out of fear of getting stuck with Chaney. I now believe it's worth the risk. By the time Dick gets anything figured out, we'll have a new president, hopefully Fred Thompson or Mike Huckabee.

Right now, I'd settle for Gomer Pyle.

Mike Bradbury
