Local man killed in one-car rollover near Glenns Ferry

Monday, July 9, 2007

Traffic on Interstate 84 near Glenns Ferry was delayed for several hours last Friday due to a one-car rollover accident that killed Daniel Farias, 24, of King Hill.

Farias and passenger Thomas Rodgers, 17, of King Hill, were traveling westbound just before 3 p.m. when the 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup that Farias was driving apparently blew a tire and ran off the road and into the center median, according to the Idaho State Police report.

The truck rolled at least one time, ejecting both occupants from the vehicle. Farias died at the scene from his injuries. Rodgers was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

There was no indication that either one of the occupants was wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
