Mountain Home Tiger head track coach Rich Urquidi was pleased with efforts at the Timberline meet.

"The younger kids really competed well and we gave them a chance to get in there and do some things. We kind of moved some of our varsity kids around a little bit. We did run some of our varsity relays just because we wanted to try some handoffs because we were going to do them new at the Treasure Valley meet."

Mountain Home found the competition much stiffer at the Bandana Treasure Valley Invitational with the 18 5A and 4A teams there. Borah won both the boys and girls competition, with Mountain Home finishing 10th in the boys competition and 13th in the girls competition.

Brandon Doble finished second in the 110 high hurdles and was fifth in the 300 meter hurdles. Nick O'Briant was second in the high jump. Josh Driskell was third in the shot put, and Zacq Hale was eighth in the triple jump.

In the girls competition, Francesca Hale finished sixth in the 100 meter high hurdles, Jasmyn Jewett was sixth in the triple jump and Alyssa Saltzgaber was eighth in the triple jump.

"It was pretty stiff competition," said Coach Urquidi of the Treasure Valley meet. "The kids we were expecting to do some things did. There were no real big surprises with what happened, but it was good practice to kind of get ready for -- we hadn't had any meets yet that had prelims and then finals, so that was good for our kids. Thursday the weather was pretty cool and the times were kind of down, but Friday the weather was a little bit better. There wasn't quite as much wind, and there was some good competition."

Coach Urquidi will be taking some of his best to the Boise Relays meet this Friday at Bronco Stadium.
