Faulty wiring to blame for late night fire

Friday, April 13, 2007

Fires crews responded to a late night residential fire at 1505 West 5th N. in Mountain Home on Thursday.

Fire Chief Phil Gridley blamed the fire on aged and faulty electrical wiring in the walls of the structure, which has an apartment above the main part of the building.

All of the residents in the building were evacuated with none requiring medical treatment.

It took longer to locate the fire due to firefighters needing to cut power to the structure and then cut a hole in the wall to extinguish the blaze.

The fire only caused minor damage to the residence.
