Bartholomew "Bart" M. Mannion, 83, of Mountain Home, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at the VA Hospital in Boise.

At his request, there were no services. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Bart was born in New York City on March 3, 1923.

On Oct. 6, 1943, he married Audrey Warshauer, also of New York, and they began their life in the military to get away from New York City and see the world. They had two daughters and many adventures over their 63 years together, the family noted.

After serving in the Navy and the Air Force he and his family settled in Boise. Eventually, he moved to Mountain Home for his final retirement.

He enjoyed his music and his animals. "Dad was a very humble man who touched a lot of lives. He will be missed," his family said.

Bart is survived by: his wife, Audrey, of Mountain Home; daughters Judee Potter of Del Mar, Calif., and Jill Wetherell of Mountain Home, four grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one brother, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog, Sandy.

He was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and his son-in-law, Dennis Wetherell.

Memorial contributions in Bart's name can be made to the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St., Boise, ID 83705, or a charity of choice.
