The Mountain Home Lady Tigers faced the top two unbeaten teams in conference last week, and came up on the short end with each.

Bishop Kelly 69

Mountain Home 41

Bishop Kelly's press caused Mountain Home fits Thursday night, and the Lady Knights scored 36 points off Mountain Home turnovers to beat the Lady Tigers, 69-41 in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

Bishop Kelly shot out to an 18-7 first-quarter lead and increased it to 34-13 midway through the second period. Mountain Home rallied to make it 38-23, at halftime.

Mountain Home went cold in the third quarter, scoring only five points, as the Lady Knights pushed their lead up to 56-28, heading into the final period.

Bishop Kelly extended its lead in the fourth to 33 points, 64-31, but the Lady Tigers outscored them the rest of the way, 10-5, to make it a 69-41 final.

"It's like we talked in the pre-game, if we turn the ball over, we're in trouble, and we turned the ball over and we got in trouble," said Lady Tiger coach Brian English in radio comments after the game. "36 points off turnovers -- that's a lot of points! You can't give up that many points, especially to as good a team as B K is, but we're young and we're going to make mistakes, and that's what happens. We've just got to learn from this."

Brandie Riggs led Mountain Home in scoring with eight points. Emily Moranda added seven, Dani Dean scored five, Ashley Kipp, Jessica Egusquiza, Sheena Nelsen, Hannah Zamora and Chantell Crane all had four points, and Sammy Dodge scored one.

Mountain Home connected on just two of seven (29 percent) treys, and shot just 27 percent (11/41) inside the arc. The Lady Tigers shot 65 percent (13/20) from the free-throw line.

Bishop Kelly hit 41 percent (5/12) on three pointers, 47 percent (22/47) on two-pointers, and 58 percent (11/19) from the foul line.

The Lady Tigers had a 29-26 edge on rebounds, led by Emily Moranda with seven.

Emmett 46

Mtn. Home 30

Emmett outscored the Lady Tigers 18-8 in the third quarter to pull away for a 46-30 conference win over Mountain Home Saturday afternoon at Emmett.

Turnovers were big again, the Lady Tigers committing 54 in the ball game.

Emmett led, 8-7, after a quarter, and held an 18-13 lead at the half. The Lady Huskies pushed their lead to 36-21, heading into the final period, and Mountain Home was unable to make up the difference, falling 46-30.

"We had another one of those games where we just turned the ball over way too much," said Coach English. "They jumped on us in the third quarter and we just couldn't come back from it."

Chantell Crane led the Lady Tigers in scoring with seven points, she also had seven rebounds. Brandie Riggs and Dani Dean both scored six points, Sammy Dodge had four, Ashley Kipp, Hannah Zamora and Emily Moranda each scored two, and Alyssa Saltzgaber had one point.

The Lady Tigers drop to 2-4 in conference and 4-7 overall.

They closed out their pre-Christmas holiday schedule last night at Wood River against the Lady Wolverines in Hailey. They return to action on Jan. 4 at Nampa.
