Maria Garcilazo

Maria Esther Garcilazo, 55, of Mountain Home, was killed in a car accident in Mexico on Monday, Dec. 4, 2006.

A Rosary was held Dec. 10, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home, followed on Dec. 11 with a funeral mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Burial was at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Maria was born June 20, 1951, in San Pedro, Tacaro, Michoacan, Mexico, the daughter of Marcelo and Lorenza Juarez.

In 1968, she married Jose L. Garcilazo in Michoacan, Mexico, and they had four children. After moving to Mountain Home in the early 1970s they were blessed with three more children.

Maria's love was her family. She loved her husband, children and her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook. She also loved to crochet, her family said.

Maria is survived by: her husband, Jose, of Mountain Home; her seven children, Martha Flores, Teresa Guadarrama, Hector Garcilazo, Alex Garcilazo, and Patsy Garcilazo, all of Mountain Home, Victor Garcilazo of Kuna and Veronica Pedraza of Las Vegas; two brothers, Nick Juarez of Mountain Home and Daniel Juarez of Hammett, one sister, Victorina Tellez of Chicago and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her parents and two brothers.
