Mr. and Mrs. David Hamilton had dated when they were kids.

Evelyn Singleton and David Hamilton, childhood sweethearts 56 years ago, were married Nov. 25, 2006, at the River of Life Church with Carol Ruhter officiating.

Matt Trompke of Fayette, Ga., the bride's son, walked her down the aisle.

Francis McKeel sang during the service and Rudy Corbett and other musicians provided additional bluegrass music for the occassion.

Carla Bradley and Angel Hill were in charge of putting the wedding together.

The newlyweds had grown up in Indian Cove together and were childhood sweethearts. They even have photos of each other double dating at the time with another couple who still lives in the area. Both still have family members living in the Indian Cove and Glenns Ferry areas.

David eventually went on to become an Elmore County Sheriff's Deputy.

Both took separate paths in life after growing up, but came back together more than five decades later, fell in love again, and were married last week.
