Robber strikes at Jackson's

Wednesday, December 6, 2006

The Mountain Home Police is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Jackson's Food Store located on Airbase Road in Mountain Home sometime around 2:30 a.m. early Sunday morning, Dec. 3.

The suspect approached the sales clerk stating that he was armed and demanded money. He did not actually display a weapon.

The sales clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then left on foot with an unknown direction of travel.

The suspect, who apparently was not disguised, was described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, approximately 5'2" to 5'5", slim build with slicked back black hair wearing a black coat, black shirt and black Dickie's pants.

The Mountain Home Police Department is asking for assistance in the case. If anyone was in the area of the Jackson's Food Store on Airbase Road at or around the time of the robbery and saw something suspicious or someone fitting the description of the suspect, contact Det. Lt. Julee Bunderson at the Mountain Home Police Department, 587-9637, ext. 202. After 5 p.m. or weekends, call 587-2100 and have dispatch contact the on-call detective.

It was the second armed robbery in Mountain Home this year. This spring the Home Federal Savings and Loan was robbed. The suspect in that case was arrested in New Jersey following a bank robbery there. He has not been returned to Idaho until that case has been resolved.
