The Mountain Home Tigers dominated the Columbia Wildcats Friday night, clinching a state play-off berth with a 42-0 win at Columbia.

A partially blocked punt helped set up Mountain Home's first score of the game, as they started on the Columbia 33-yard line.

An off-sides penalty moved it down to the 28. Robert Daniels ran it to the 22. From there, Jake Posey connected with Brandon Doble on a touchdown pass. Tyson Sessions ran in the two-point conversion to give the Tigers an 8-0 lead with 6:46 left in the first quarter.

The Tigers added three more touchdowns in the second quarter. Tyson Sessions capped off a 12-play 74-yard drive with a one-yard run.

After a high snap from center went over the Columbia punter's head and he was tackled at the Columbia 14, the Tigers took over from there and scored in five plays, Tyson Sessions taking it in from a yard out. Brandon Doble ran in the two-point conversion to make it 22-0, with 6:10 left in the half.

A fake punt then failed for Columbia, and the Tigers took over on their own 45, and went 55 yards in nine plays, Jake Posey taking it in from a yard out. Kyle Clark's PAT made it 29-0, Tigers at halftime.

The Tigers had an 89-yard 15-play drive in the third quarter, which was capped off by a 16-yard run by Zacq Hale to put Mountain Home up 35-0.

Mountain Home's final score of the night came late in the fourth quarter, with the reserves in. Tallen Pauley, picked up 57 yards on the drive, including the final yard for the score. Josh Lindsay's PAT went through the upright to make it a 42-0 final.

"I thought our defense played lights-out except for about two plays. They did an excellent job, I'm really proud of them," said Tiger head football coach Brian Floyd.

"The offense, they still had some hiccups here and there, but when you're able to put up 42 points, it's always good."

The Tigers rushed for 338 yards. Zacq Hale had 110 yards and a touchdown on 10 rushes. Robert Daniels had 109 yards rushing on 15 carries. Tallen Pauley rushed the ball six times for 57 yards and a score, Tyson Sessions had 26 yards and two touchdowns on eight rushes, Kyle Kerfoot had one rush for 15 yards, Chris Knudson had five rushes for 15 yards, and Jake Posey rushed four times for six yards and a score.

Jake Posey completed eight of 14 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. He also had two passes picked off.

Zacq Hale caught three passes for 30 yards, Brandon Doble had one catch for 22 yards and a score and Robert Moss had one catch for 11 yards.

Colombia rushed the ball 36 times for just 52 yards, and completed eight of 18 passes for 62 yards.

Defensively, Tyson Sessions led the Tigers with 14 tackles and a pass deflection. Robert Daniels had seven tackles, Josh Driskell had six tackles and three sacks, Chris Knudson had five tackles and two sacks, Zacaq Hale had four tackles, and Robert Moss had a pass interception.

The Tigers close out their regular season schedule at Bishop Kelly Friday night. With the Knights' 32-28 loss to Skyview, both Mountain Home and Bishop Kelly are 5-1 in conference play, with second place on the line Friday night.

"This game is for second and third place to see who travels north" said Coach Floyd. "The number two seed plays Sandpoint and the number three seed plays Skyview. We're not really worried about where we play in the play-offs, we want to finish off the regular season first.

"Bishop Kelly, their quarterback is extremely fast, and their offensive line is getting better every week, so we have our work cut out for us."

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday night at Bishop Kelly.
