The Mountain Home Lady Tigers celebrated Senior Night with a 3-1 win over the Lady Knights from Bishop Kelly last Tuesday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

Mountain Home has six seniors on their squad this season, and they all started in the first game, which the Lady Tigers won, 26-24.

Bishop Kelly took control of the second game, and except for ties at 2-2, and 3-3, gradually increased their lead up to six.

Mountain Home fought back to within two, at 19-21, but Bishop Kelly scored the final four points to win, 25-19, and even the match at 1-1.

Mountain Home never trailed in the third game, which had ties at 6-6 and 8-8. Their biggest lead was only four points, but they kept the Lady Knights at bay, winning, 25-21.

Mountain Home trailed, 3-1, early in the fourth game, but scored six straight points to go up 7-3. They never trailed after that, and built up a 23-13 lead. The Lady Knights fought back within six, but Mountain Home took game four 25-18 to claim the match 3-1.

Mountain Home volleyball coach Sarah DeVore was pleased with the team's effort.

"Our seniors came out that first game and they set the tempo. Those six seniors are a great group, and it's going to be a hard group to replace, but I'm not going to think too much about that just yet, I'm going to enjoy them while I've got them as we head into district."

Dani Dean had nine kills, was 15 for 16 serving, with eight service points and two aces. She also had two blocks. Sammy Dodge also had nine kills, and had four blocks, three digs and was 10 of 13 serving, with seven service points and an ace. Ashley Kipp hit 21 of 22 serves for 14 points, had five aces, four kills and six assists. Brandie Riggs was good on 14 of 15 serves for eight points and an ace, and had 18 assists.
