Middleton Vikings 2

The Mountain Home Tigers battled Middleton to a 2-2 tie in conference boys soccer at Mountain Home last Monday.

The Tigers shot out to an early 2-0 lead, but Middleton came back to tie the game at 2-2. Both teams missed shots in the closing minutes and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh was happy to see his guys finally get out to a good start.

"That was real encouraging. I think I'll give them Friday off more often. It was really nice to see them come out and play like that in the first half. Now, if we can just go a whole 80 minutes.

"Actually, they never quit. We played tough the whole way. We lost a little intensity and Middleton picked up a little momentum there for a little while, but the guys never gave up and they held them really tight, so I'm pleased."

Reza Mesmarian scored off an assist by Stephen Bitrick, and Christian Adamson scored off an assist by Mesmarian. Tiger goalie Josh Lindsay had eight saves.
