Cross country teams finish fourth and fifth

The Mountain Home Tiger boys finished fourth and the girls fifth at Thursday's New Plymouth Invitational cross country meet.      

Weiser won the boys meet with 39 points, Parma was second with 56, followed by Melba, 105, Mountain Home, 112, Homedale, 143, New Plymouth, 156, and Payette, 162.      

Charlie Blocklock led the Tiger boys, coming in at 20:26, good for 13th.  Matt Bernyk ran a 21:27, good for 21st.  Garrett Wood ran a 22:24, good for 28th, Robert Hunter ran a 22:27, good for 32nd, and Brett Kohring came in at 22:53, good for 34th.  

Blocklock, Bernyk, Wood and Hunter's times were all personal best times.      

Weiser also won the girls meet, with 29 points, followed by Parma's 51.  Payette had 78, Melba, 97, and Mountain Home, 105.

Jesse Cameron led the Mountain Home girls, running the course in 25:39, which placed her 11th.  Three spots back was Kelci Robinson, who came in with a 26:07 time.   Sarah Hyde ran a 34:04, which placed her 36th, Cindy Blocklock ran a 34:52, one second better than Courtney Ashford.      

The Tigers have a meet scheduled at Wood River tomorrow (Thursday).
