Both the Mountain Home girls and boys golfers showed improvement last week while competing at the SIC 4A tourney at Purple Sage Golf Course in Caldwell.

The Tiger boys finished last at Purple Sage, but improved their team score to 184. Vallivue won the event, shooting a 157. Emmett was second with a 165, two shots better than Bishop Kelly. Caldwell was fourth with 171, two shots better than Skyview, and 10 shots better than Kuna and Nampa.

"They're showing improvement," said Tiger golf coach Scott Mederios. "They cut seven strokes off what they shot last week. We're not playing our best golf yet, but it will come. We're just a few strokes behind some of the other teams."

The Mountain Home girls played Purple Sage last Tuesday, and came in with a 251 total. Bishop Kelly won the competition with a 166, besting Vallivue by seven shots. Caldwell came in with a 175, Skyview a distant fourth at 224, a stroke ahead of Nampa.

Carlotta Vaughn led Mountain Home with a 57, which placed her 18th. Shantell Beasley came in with a 63, Shayla Streeter shot a 65, and Kimi Hamaishi carded a 66.

The Tigers went to Ridgecrest in Nampa yesterday (Tuesday) for a boys and girls conference tourney hosted by Skyview. The boys go to the Canyon County Invitational at River Bend Golf Course on Friday.
