Betty Rayfield, 71

Betty Evelyn Rayfield, 71, of Mountain Home, died at her home on Thursday, March 9, 2006.

Funeral services are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Betty was born on Oct. 24, 1934, the daughter of John and Evelyn Gray in Ridgewood, N.J. She received her high school diploma from Anchorage, Alaska.

She married Paul Miller in 1951 and they were later divorced in 1953.

She married Robert Lynch in June 1955. They lived in Sumpter, S.C., Gastonia, N.C., and Gaston County. They divorced in 1981.

In 1982 she married Ray Rayfield and moved to Mountain Home.

She worked in several industries including Civil Service, in a winery, and carpet mills.

She loved reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, children, history, and mystery programs. She also loved playing games such as PSI and Sega games as well as watching her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren play the same games, her family said.

Betty is survived by: her three sons, Robert and his wife, Diane Lynch, of Mountain Home, Karl and his wife, Brenda Lynch, of North Carolina, and John Lynch and his wife, Melissa, of Mountain Home; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both parents, three husbands and 11 children.
