Leonard and Margaret Vesey

Leonard and Margaret Vesey, formerly of Mountain Home, now living in Lake Oswego, Ore., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Feb. 10.

A dinner party was held in their honor that evening at the home of their daughter, Martha Parks, also of Lake Oswego. Their daughter, Cheryl Dennis and her husband, John, came from Temecula, Calif., for the event. Their son, Tom Vesey and his fiancee, Vicki Kazner, came from northern Idaho. Their granddaughter, Kallee Coleman and her husband, Caleb, and their two children, Kayla and Caden, who live in nearby Hillsboro, were also in attendance. They received many cards and letters, as well as pictures past and present.

Leonard and Margaret were married in Marion, Ark., Feb. 10, 1946. Leonard was in the Air Force and they came to Mountain Home in 1958. He went TDY and PCS to other places but the family stayed in Mountain Home. Their children grew up here and all graduated from Mountain Home High School. In the late 1960s they bought a home in town and eventually he retired from the military. They remained in Mountain Home until 1991. Mountain Home holds many fond memories for them and their family, they said, adding, "Thank you for 33 years of friendship."
