Nola Deckard, 101

Nola Ruth Deckard, 101, of Mountain Home, died of natural causes at Valley View Nursing Center in Boise on Monday, Nov. 21, 2005. She wag a longtime resident of Mountain Home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home. Arrangement are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.

Nola was born Dec. 22, 1903, in Manassa, Colo., the daughter of Daniel and Alice Kirtland, and was the sixth of 12 children.

Her family moved to Hagerman from Colorado in 1930.

She married William Deckard in 1938 in Gooding and they raised five children.

Nola mostly enjoyed time spent with her family reading and doing crossword puzzles, her family said.

She is survived by: her daughters, Alice and her husband, Gordon Knorr, of Dillon, Mont., Barbara and her husband, Willie Thompson, of Mountain Home, and Sandra and her husband, Ed Loveland, of Auburn, Wash., nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers, sisters and her daughters Sharon and Nancy.
