Esther Jane Ferris, 86, formerly of Mountain Home, died at a Care Center at University Place, Wash., on Sept.2, 2005.

Internment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home.

Esther was one of twin girls born on July 17, 1919, to Claude and Ethel (Bennett) Martin in Portland, Ore.

On Sept. 4, 1942, she married Harvey Groefsema at Portland, Oregon. They ranched at Mountain Home until their divorce in 1965.

She married James (Jimmie) Ferris on July 11, 1975, at Mountain Home. Jimmie died in 1996, after which Esther went to live with her daughter, Ida, in Puyallup, Wash. She then moved to Tacoma and subsequently to the nursing home at University Place where she was living when she died.

She was proceeded in death by her twin, her daughter, Ida Groefsema, and her brother, Charles Martin.

She is survived by: sisters Ellen Brown of Centrailia, Wash., Louise Ford of Portland, Ore., and Betty Mostert of Carson, Wash.; her daughter, Linda Henderson and her husband, Dick, of Lewiston, Idaho; sons Glenn Groefsema and his wife, Janet, of University Place, Wash., and Wayne Groefsema and his wife, Pearl, of Cameron, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
