Mountain Home High School will have a new Activities Director when school opens this week.

John Clark takes over the position for James Gilbert. Gilbert resigned to take an assistant principal position at the junior high.

Clark, a Montana native, has taught at Mountain Home High School for five years, and has been an assistant football coach for the past six years, and has also coached JV baseball.

"I greatly appreciate getting the job, and look forward to the challenge," said Clark, who would like to see wider participation by students in all high school activities, be it sports, drama or music.

"One of my goals, and it's been as a coach, also, the past several years, and as a teacher, is to get people involved. Kids, parents, everybody -- a cooperative effort -- because we're out here and parents are out here for the kids, and they are our most valuable resource, and that's why I'm here.

"I want to do the best I can to bring that together and bring as many people into sports, academics -- make it a combined vision where we work together to make all of those areas as successful as we possibly can, and get more kids involved in everything."
