Thomas Alvin Grossman, 91, died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Mountain View Health Services in Ogden, Utah.

He was born May 30, 1914, in Hooker, Okla., the son of William and Mary Susan Kraft Mangold.

He married Betty Ruth Poole on Dec. 4, 1959, in Loveland, Colo. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25,1997.

His family noted that he "accepted Christ as his personal savior in 1939 after hearing a radio broadcast of 'The Old Time Gospel Hour' featuring Charles E. Fuller as speaker. Before God's calling on his life he was a farmer in Kansas."

Thomas pastored local independent Baptist churches in Kansas, Colorado, Idaho and Utah.

He came to Mountain Home in 1960 and started the Bible Baptist Church, which he pastored from 1960 until 1978.

He then moved to Kaysville, Utah and started Faith Baptist Church. He pastored there until his retirement.

He loved to garden, hunt, fish and spend time with his family.

He is survived by: three sons, Cliff ( Carrie) Grossman, of Eagle, Larry Grossman, of Boise, and Michael (Jeannie) Grossman, of Meridian; daughter Tarnera (David) Ellis, of Las Vegas, Nev.; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife, seven brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Aug. 1, at Faith Baptist Church in Layton, Utah.
