Barrie, Brandon win at TF track meet

Kacy Barrie and Brandon Sloan both picked up first place finishes at Friday's Twin Falls Invitational Track and Field meet.

Barrie won the girls 100 meter high hurdles and Brandon Sloan won the boys 1600 meter run.

The hurdle events were big point getters for the Mountain Home girls, as they scored 31 of their 73 points in the hurdle events. Troi White finished third, Lauren Kisner, fourth, and Piper Coffin was sixth. Kisner finished third in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles, Barrie was fourth.

Troi White finished fifth in the 100 meter dash, and teamed with Lauren Kisner, Alyssa Saltzgaber and Katie Roelofs in the medley relay that finished third.

Mountain Home's four by 100 (Aubrie Ferbrache, Lindsey Engelhardt, Teysena Chatman and Nicole Roelofs), four by 200 (Erica Stanton, Katie Roelofs, Teysena Chatman and Kendra Pratt) and four by 400 (Teysena Chatman, Jeanette Overlin, Lauren Kisner and Piper Coffin) meter relay teams all finished fourth.

Kaleena Bluemer finished fourth in both the shot put and high jump. Kendra Pratt had a sixth in the 200 meter dash, Alyssa Saltzgaber was sixth in the triple jump, and Katie Roelofs was sixth in the pole vault.

Mountain Home finished third in the girls competition. Twin Falls was first with 186 points, Jerome was second with 99, Mountain Home, third, with 73, Kuna, fourth, with 65, Burley had 43, Wood River, 39, and Minico, 12.

Twin Falls also won the boys competition, scoring 154 points. Kuna was second with 126, Jerome, next with 80, followed by Minico with 73, Wood River, 51, Mountain Home, 42, and Burley, 29.

Brandon Sloan won the 1600, and was second in the 800 meter run. He was also a member, along with Victor Werner, Lawrence Johnson and Nathan Osbourn on the four by 400 meter relay team that finished fourth.

Mountain Home's medley relay team made up of Victor Werner, Nick Barrie, Nathan Osbourn and Scott Riley finished second.

Lee Pierce had a third place finish in the 3200 and a fifth place finish in the 1600 meter run.

Victor Werner finished fifth in the 400 meter dash, and Nick Barrie placed fifth in the triple jump.

The Tigers go to Caldwell this Thursday and Friday for the District III 4A Track and Field Meet.

The State Track and Field Championships are May 19-21 at Boise State.
