Golf team finishes last

Wednesday, May 4, 2005

The scores were exceptionally low at the SIC 4A golf tourney at Purple Sage Golf Course in Caldwell last Wednesday, which meant Mountain Home, which had their third lowest score of the season, still came in last of the eight boys conference teams.

Bishop Kelly and Caldwell both came in with 153 totals, with Emmett third, at 156. Skyview and Vallivue both shot 161, with Kuna, 167, Nampa, 170, and Mountain Home 177.

Mark Cowman of Caldwell and Jake Lyter of Emmett paced the field, both shooting a 34 for medalist honors. Layne Short and Nick Trueba led Mountain Home, both carding a 44, which for Short was a season best, and for Trueba, tied his season best, but they tied for 26th place overall. Joe Rebon came in with a 45, Monte Rinebold shot a 48, and Stephen Bitrick came in with a 50.

The Tigers boys and girls hosted a conference golf match Monday at Desert Canyon Golf Course. They will also host the District III 4A Golf Tournament for both boys and girls on May 9.
