Golf team scores improve

Their team standings might not have changed, but the Mountain home girls and boys both improved their scores in their second SIC 4A golf match of the season when they golfed at Boise Ranch Golf Course.

Bishop Kelly won the girls competition, shooting a 172, a stroke ahead of Vallivue. Caldwell finished a shot behind Vallivue, at 174. Nampa and Skyview tied for fourth, both carding a 202 total. Kuna was next at 213, and Mountain Home came in with a 238, some nine shots better than their first effort of the season.

Andrea Haney of Caldwell won medalist honors, shooting a 39. Jimena Garcia led the Mountain Home girls with a 48, which tied her for 15th. Carlotta Vaughn came in with a 57, Breanna Rodriguez shot a 65, Princess Young carded a 68, and Shantell Beasley shot a 69, all better scores than the week before.

Bishop Kelly also won the boys competition at Boise Ranch, shooting a 156, Caldwell and Vallivue tied for second, shooting 158. Emmett and Nampa both carded 160, with Nampa coming in with a 166, Skyview a 170, and Mountain Home shot a 176.

Andrew Feller of Vallivue and Kenton Skyles of Nampa both shot a 36 for medalist honors.

Joe Rebon once again led the Tigers. His 39 tied him for ninth. Nick Trueba and Monte Rinebold both shot a 45, and Steven Bitrick and Layne Short both carded a 47.

The Tigers boys were at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa yesterday (Tuesday) and the girls are there today (Wednesday) in golf action.
