Galen John Truesdell, 27, of Mountain Home Air Force Base, formerly of Shelburne Falls, Mass., died Thursday Feb. 10, 2005.

Memorial services were held at the Mountain Home Air Force Base Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 15. Local arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home Mountain Home.

Tuesdell was born in McCandles, Penn., to Dale B. and Judith C. Truesdell.

He spent his early youth in Fremont, Calif., and Littleton, Colo., before moving with his family to Shelburne Falls, where his parents still live.

Growing up he played soccer, took karate lessons, and had an enduring interest in physical fitness. He was a talented artist in both drawing and sculpturing, was an avid reader of Stephen King novels, and enjoyed video games. He loved animals.

He graduated from Mohawk Trail Regional High School in 1996. He took classes at Quinsigamond Junior College in Worcester, Mass., and intended to return to college after his service in the Air Force, where he was a missile defense systems specialist.

Survivors include: a brother and his wife, Jeremy and Tanya Truesdell of Freenfield, Mass; a grandmother, Dorothy F. Green of Shelburne; four uncles and several cousins.

Funeral services in Shelburne were held Tuesday at the First Congregation Church of Shelburne.
