Tigers earn all-conference honors

All-Conference awards were announced for the Southern Idaho Conference 4A in football, volleyball and soccer, with several Mountain Home athletes honored.

In football, Matt Maurer made First Team Offense at running back.

Kole Spaulding was Second Team Offense at lineman, and Keith Yagues and Brock Zamora earned Honorable Mention Offense, Yagues at Quarterback, Zamora at tight end.

Making First Team Defense were Tiger seniors Kole Spaulding and Zach Anderson, Spaulding at linebacker, and Anderson on the defensive line.

Earning Second Team Defense were Tiger defensive backs Keith Yagues, and Josh Reynolds, Reynolds, as a junior.

In volleyball, Jordana Price made First Team All-Conference. Dani Dean and Paula Barrientos both received Honorable Mention.

In girls soccer, Karen Kohtz and Jessica Hendershot both made First Team All-Conference.

Second Team All-Conference awards went to Angelina Garcia, Stacy Sigloh and Emily Moranda.

Honorable Mention awards went to Jennifer Rumley and Danielle Green.

In boys soccer, Aaron Swartz, Brian Weiss and Brady Rector all earned First Team All-Conference.

Donivon Wilson and Romiro Pedroza made Second Team All-Conference. JB Miesegaes received Honorable Mention.

Those earning All-Academic SIC 4A awards were Shawn Morin and Matt Maurer in football, Stay Sigloh, Karen Kohtz, Carmen Santy, Nicole Roelofs and Mark Schaal in soccer, and Stephanie Spagnolo, Lindsey Engelhardt, Paula Barrientos, Lisa Kellerman, Amanda Bitterman, Jordana Price and Erica Stanton in volleyball.

Matt Maurer played in last Friday's 9th Annual El Korah Shrine East-West Senior All-Star Game at Bishop Kelly. Maurer played linebacker for the East squad, which won 23-21 in the closing seconds on a 20-yard field goal by Max Davis.
