Jeannette "Jean" L. Nelson, 57, of Mountain Home, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at her home, surrounded by many of her loved ones.

At her request no services will be held. A family and friends gathering will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, at Carl Miller Park in Mountain Home. Cremation is under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Jean was born Aug. 30, 1946, in Henderson, Texas, the daughter of Az and Dorothy (Johnson) Wilson. Jean's education only went to the 6th grade, due to her mother's illness.

She married Dick Nelson on July 28, 1967, in Gresham, Ore. They were married for 37 years.

Jean and Dick moved to Mountain Home, three years ago.

Jean loved to camp, fish and go looking for rocks. She loved to collect all kinds of things, her family noted.

Jean is survived by: her husband, Dick Nelson, of Mountain Home; four children; Richard Nelson, of Grand Rounde, Ore., Charles Nelson and his wife, Donna, of Sheridan, Ore., Patricia Whiffen and her husband, Ralph, and Tammy Lenaburg and her husband, Scott, all of Mountain Home; a sister, Elaine Witworth and her husband, Darrell Wayne, of Henrietta, Texas; Merl Wilson of Longview, Texas; five grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces, including a favorite aunt, Merl Wilson of Longview, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, David Nelson.
