Tigers place 15th at state track meet

Mountain Home finished 15th in both the girls and boys competition of the 4A State Track and Field Championships at BSU last week.

Mykel Barrie finished second behind Stephanie Barnwell of Kuna in the 100-meter hurdles, and both Barrie and Barnwell bested the previous 4A class record in the event.

Kacy Barrie finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, and ran in the 300 meter hurdles, but failed to make the finals in that event. Troi White also competed in the 100-meter hurdles, but failed to make the finals.

Tiffany Robins went 8' 0" in the pole vault, but failed to place in the top eight.

Caom Hansen finished second in the discus throw in the boys competition, and his throw of 161' 3" also beat the previous class 4A record. Hansen also competed in the shot put and high jump, but failed to place in those events.

The Tigers' four by 200-meter relay team finished fourth, and the four by 100-meter relay team came in sixth. Anthony Pomerlee, Matt Maurer, Billy O'Brien and Michael Thornsberry ran both relays.

Lawrence Johnson finished 10th in the 800-meter run, but was just 0:00.9 seconds out of eighth place.

Eric Smith tied for ninth in the pole vault, and Cory Bernaiche ran the 110-meter high hurdles, but failed to make the finals.
