Mountain Home came away with some good efforts at a four-team track meet at Bishop Kelly last Thursday.

The host Lady Knights from Bishop Kelly won the girls competition, scoring 112 points. Jerome finished second with 83 points, Mountain Home was third with 46, and Caldwell came in fourth with 29 points.

Mykel Barrie earned Mountain Home's only first-place effort at the meet, winning the 100-meter hurdles.

Lauren Kisner finished second in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 100-meter dash.

Tiffany Robins was second in the pole vault, and Mountain Home's four by 200 relay team (Sidnei Banks, Kacy Barrie, Erica Stanton and Mykel Barrie) and four by 400 relay team (Sidnei Banks, Katie Roelofs, Alyssa Saltzgaber and Lauren Kisner) also had second place efforts.

Kacy Barrie finished third in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Erica Stanton came in third in both the long jump and triple jump. Troi White was third in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Kimi Hamaishi was fourth in the 400-meter dash, and Sophie Kettner finished fourth in the high jump.

Piper Coffin came in fifth in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the boys competition, Caldwell edged Jerome 85-83 for first place. Bishop Kelly was third with 66 points, and Mountain Home finished with 38 points.

Mountain Home's four by 200-meter relay team, made up of Anthony Pomerlee, Matt Maurer, Billy O'Brien and Michael Thornsberry, finished first.

The medley relay (Lawrence Johnson, Phillip Pellitier, Brandon Sloan and Lee Pierce) finished second, and the four by 100-meter relay (Pomerlee, Maurer, O'Brien and Thornsberry) finished third.

Marcus Santistevan finished third in the long jump and triple jump. Anthony Pomerlee had a third-place effort in the 200-meter dash.

Matt Maurer finished fourth in both the 200-meter dash and triple jump. Victor Werner was fourth in the 400-meter dash, Lawrence Johnson was fourth in the 800-meter run, Jean Paul Archambealt took fourth in the high jump, and Caom Hansen was fourth in the shot put.

Billy O'Brien came in fourth in the 100-meter dash, Trever Lawson was fifth in the 400, and Lee Pierce came in fifth in the 1600-meter run.

Tiger track coach Rich Urquidi was pleased with their efforts on the day.

"We felt both the girls and boys teams competed real well again. We're scoring some points. The girls beat Caldwell. The guys came up on the short end, but we all felt that they competed really well.

"The boys four by 200 (meter relay) hasn't lost yet, and they've won convincingly both times, and we think we were looking at some of the better four by 200 teams there.

"In the hurdles, for the girls, Mykel and Kacy (Barrie) have been running really well. Mykel won the (100 meters) again, and in the relays, we have a number of girls to choose from, so we keep improving each week on them."

The Tiger thin-clads are off this week for Spring Break, returning to action on April 2 at home against Bishop Kelly, Emmett and Kuna.
