William Fredrick Spellman, 69, of Mountain Home, died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded at home by his wife, their five children and five of their fifteen grandchildren, on Jan. 31, 2004, after losing a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Pastor Truman E. Parker of First Congregational Church will officiate at the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, at Summers Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

He was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Springfield, Long Island, New York City, N.Y., to parents William Bernard and Helen Lillian Dies Spellman of Laurelton, Long Island.

He is survived by: his wife, Charlene; his children, : Steven M. Spellman, Cynthia D. Deerham, Jacquelyn C. Spellman, Kristina L. Masbarn, and foster daughter Adrienne A. Feekes; his mother, Helen L. Spellman; his sister, Karol Grzesik, and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

If desired, donations in lieu of flowers may be given in his memory to either Horizon Home Health and Hospice of Mountain Home or St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute.
