  • To be honest, the real problem in this story is that people are not self-reliant enough. Services are nice but humans have always adapted and made the best of what they have.

Not to be a broken record but tax cuts are nice but spending cuts would be even nicer.

  • So let's all of us dig a little deeper into our pockets. It's not enough that our grown children were forced to move back home because the economy is in such terrible shambles. It's not enough that we have a federal government with an insatiable appetite for our money and is going to extraordinary lengths to find any and all things taxable. It's not enough that our employers are laying off people by the thousands again and won't hire full time employees to avoid paying benefits. Governor Otter also mentioned giving counties the ability to levy "special" taxes to make up for the loss of revenue. So let's everyone dig a little deeper, shall we? We are no longer just working to make a living and care for our families; now we have to spoon feed our bloated and wasteful government too. Kinda hits you right about there, doesn't it?
