  • The football program in Mountain Home is in a state of 'disrepair'. Watching them play vs Bishop Kelly was embarrassing. Within a six minute time span, they had three turnover (fumbles) inside their own 10 yard line which lead to 17 points for BK.

    Coach Clark was "suppose" to turn the program around, so here are some staggering numbers to chew on since his tenure as Head Coach;

    1. Record: 0-15

    2. Points For (PF): 91 (15 games/6 pts average per game.

    3. Points Allowed (PA): 676 (15 games/45 pts average per game.

    4. Turnovers per game: 5 turnover on average per game.

    5. National Ranking: 12,947 out of 12,952 high school football programs.

The numbers don't lie, Coach Clark has actually taken the program backwards if that is possible.

Under Coach Rodney, the program won 2 games and had a two year record of 2-25-0 with PF: 455/27 games/16 pts on average per game. PA: 1,127/27 games/41 pts on average per game. The last year Coach Rodney coached was 2014 and the team's national ranking was 11,301.

So the program has gotten worse, not better...where do we draw the line and say enough is enough. Coach Clark is in his 2nd year and this year's team is just has bad as last year's team.

The last time this program has won a game was on 05 Sep 2014 when they put up an amazing 60 points on Twin Falls for a 60-35 victory. That's 20 points more then the entire points scored this season.

The team has lost to Columbia who hadn't won a game in three years, and made history again when Ridgevue recorded it's FIRST ever win in football against, who else...Mountain Home.

Where is the tradition and pride of this program?? When I first came here in 2007, the team finished the season 5-3-1 and I saw them beat up on Skyview 62-20 at Skyview.

The following year 2008, the team had a amazing season finishing 9-2-0 and making the state semi-finals only to lose in overtime to the eventual state champions that year Hillcrest.

The most exciting HS game I ever watched was a thrilling aerial game vs Jerome when Mtn Home scored on its last possession to win 44-43. Then just 4 weeks later, I saw them beat up Bishop Kelly at BK 40-21...they completely dominated play.

What happen to those days?? Now, we are known as the losers of Mtn Home. A team going on a 22 game losing streak. Where is the pride, the tradition the passion of those wonderful teams not so long ago.....where???

It is tragic to see this program melt away into a sea of meritocracy. How do I explain to my 10 year son who plays Optimist that someday he might be playing for the hapless Mtn Home Tigers...hopefully by then they will have a new more dynamic coach and have won some games, but I'm not betting on it!

  • Another pitiful performance this past weekend...48-0 at HALFTIME. Skyview had to enact the "mercy rule" in the 3rd quarter.

Mtn Home offense had a total of 23 yards...while Skyview QB threw for almost 300 yards and 7 TDs...yes, 7 TDs.

How much longer do these kids have to endure this kind of losing. Here is a good start... FIRE the current coach and begin looking for a quality replacement for next year.

These players deserve better, much, much better!
