  • Most of the important debates can be seen at http://video.idahoptv.org/program/idaho-debates/ for those that haven't seen them or want to see them again.

On the Superintendent of Public Schools I was horrified by the major stumbling of Sherri Ybarra vs. Jana Jones. She focused on being already working with Tom Luna as an extension of his work and doing what the legislature wants including cutting funding to schools. She repeatedly talked about being a Republican and espousing Republican values.

Jana Jones addressed school issues and said that our children don't walk into the school with a big D or a big R on their foreheads and that should not be Ybarra's role.

On Ybarra's web site that had plagiarized a statement of Jana Jones, Ybarra said that she took responsibility for it because that's what Republicans do, but then she blamed her campaign staff for the error. That's not really taking responsibility.

Jana Jones looked into the camera and presented herself well as someone used to being able to lead and work hard on issues. Ybarra looked down or at someone else in the crowd or on the stage, while doing a lot of lip service about being a leader. She is a follower that has made some local friends, I suspect, Republican only friends.

My vote is for Jana Jones.

  • I'm voting for Jana Jones after watching the 2 debates for superintendent of public schools.

Jana answered the questions and didn't give Political Rhetoric using words like "Champion" "Team Player" etc etc.

She gave answers to questions not rhetoric.

Sherri not only plagiarized a statement of Jana Jones from Jana's website she also out of 17 elections she missed 15 to cast her vote. Seems like a pretty sorry voting record for some one who wants to be the Superintendent of public Schools in Idaho

    Vote Jana!

  • I see that CoolBreeze is now engaging in the same name calling about A.J. Balukoff being "perfect for California."

I know that it i difficult for you to come up with independent ideas Cool Breeze but you are behind the times for your party position. After they realized that people saw that as name calling, they pulled that phrase from their ad.

  • To the Editor: It is not C.J. Nesmeth, it is Independent candidate "CJ Nemeth." (no periods in the name either) And it didn't say "own's" a bail bond business it said "owned" a bail bond business for 20 years. "As a bail bondsman, she'd be a perfect resource for those legislators that get arrested during the session." Is that a compliment? Perhaps the readers now know that that you are perhaps bias or it may show that you are attempting to slander all Legislatures, for did you mean they "will need services or "may" need services when they get arrested or did you mean if they get arrested or you are concluding they will get arrested? "Editors and Newspapers and TV-News should be impartial and NEVER endorse a candidate. Once they do that everything they write becomes "suspect to any truth." They become one step up from a rag mag." Just my opinion.

  • I watched the governor debated on PBS last night. I just now need to decide whether to vote Libertarian or Democratic. The Democratic candidate made good sense as did the Libertarian although the Libertarian's troubles with the law has me a little worried.

Our Republican governor needs to retire. His response to serious questions was "now (first name of reporter) you know better than that"! He clearly has some explaining to do about the prison scandal and his many frivolous law suits. Now Otter wants to do something for education. He has had 8 years to do that as Idaho became one of the worst states on education.
