  • The problem is that when Congress passes laws but not the funding for them, the Executive branch must make do as well as they can. When Congress is unable or unwilling to compromise and therefore provide needed legislation the Executive must make do. I doubt if the Supreme Court will hear the case.

  • Moral majority, two things.

    1. Judging from Geordey's opinions he may be a liberal which is kind of the same as a progressive, which is IMO much better than being a regressive. That doesn't make him a communist but nice try on the name calling.

    2. The "rationalized crime" comment is quite ironic in that Obama is way low on the number of Executive Actions. The link below lists the numbers on all presidents with Washington starting the practice with 8 of them. You should look into things more before you spout off.

  • That's a laugh. I doubt if you even know which Executive Orders he has used vs any other president.

  • When will Boehner and his gang stop playing games and stop being so ridiculously stupid??

  • Boehner and his cohorts will stop playing silly games about the time that some people on this blog will stop making Anti-Obama generic statements with nothing to back them up. Probably never.

I'd like to see if CoolBreeze or Moral majority can actually come up with a law that has been broken. They just repeat the Tea Party narrative without looking into whether it is factual or just another lie among many.

  • The Wall Street Journal provides some pros and cons in regards to the proposed lawsuit, looking at the reasoning from all sides.

That was almost two weeks ago. So ..... where is Boehner on the law suit? Just sitting there I guess, biding his time, doing nothing but talk.

We still don't know the details of the law suit, however, the emphases according to the journal is to complain about Obama not fully enforcing the law that the House of Representatives keep voting to try to cancel. What a bunch of idiots!

  • There is some truth to what you are saying Random Stranger, except that I think that a lot of Americans see through the manufactured crap.

I am hoping that the 2014 elections may help ease the bipartisan war that is currently going on. If more people will vote, than normally do in a non-presidential election there is hope.

  • random stranger term limits is a good way to go but I don't think that we want to prevent people from being lawyers, however once they have served their term they should take time off from government work, or government consulting for at least one term.

Term limits are also not without precedent. The 22nd Amendment was passed in 1947 to limit the president to two terms. It would require a constitutional amendment which in the current environment would be difficult to do.

  • Term limits is a good idea. Also Supreme Court judges need to retire by a certain age.

  • I'm still not hearing anything more on Boehner's law suit. It looks like his game may be fizzling out because he is so used to not doing a darn thing except working on his tan. Maybe someone convinced him that it was a really stupid idea.

Slate had a good article on it saying that the law suit was a loser because unlike Parliament where the Prime Minister works for them, Congress has a balance of powers with the president. Slate says if you don't like what Obama is doing, blame the Constitution.

  • Sam, I suspect that Boehner will do his lawsuit just before the 2014 election to get in the news, however, this may backfire because it draws attention to the fact that Congress has stopped working over a year ago.

random stranger, I for one post on what interests me. I just don't see an Amendment to the Constitution as feasible at this time, and it strays from the topic of this blog. Just my opinion.
