  • It allows people, with low incomes, that were not able to afford insurance to now be able to afford it.

Health care costs for people that already were adequately insured probably stayed the same. I noticed no difference in how much I pay for insurance now than what I paid a few years ago.

People that couldn't get insurance because of a pre-existing condition can now get insurance. Of course that drives insurance costs up for some people.

I'm sure that some people's insurance went up, particularly if they didn't already have insurance or they had inadequate insurance. A lot of the examples of insurance going up that were in the news turned out to be bogus so we really don't have good information on that yet.

Lastly, I believe that you are wrong Kelly on ObamaCare saving the Republican Party. The Tea Party won't let that happen.

  • National health care was needed,There are changes that need to be made to make it more practical for joe blow average. No one should be forced to bankruptcy over dieing. As someone who has health care that is not like most(caps, previous conditions etc)I would be bankrupt now, cancer is spendie. My sister inlaw is not so fortunate and her care is day to day. Before someone says something about the greatest system in the world get in touch with, that is if you can get care and that means money and access.

What we have now is not PERFECT but it is better in some repects than what we had before.LIKE SOCIAL SECURITY AND OTHER MAJOR SOCIAL PROGRAMS FIX IT, THE FOUNDATION IS NOW THERE.This is about a national need and conscience. It is probally one of the few things that transcends race, color, national orgin, sex, religion and all the other barriers we can throw up.IF WE CAN GIVE EXXON MOBILE,BP AND THE REST TAX BREAKS AND SUBSIDIES WE CAN HAVE HEALTH CARE WE CAN AFFORD ,,,,,,,,,ALL OF US.!!!!!!

  • Lamont, I too had cancer and without insurance I would have gone bankrupt. There were three surgery's, chemotherapy and radiation, not to mention the damage done to my system due to the cancer treatments requiring additional hospitalization.

If you can't afford to have insurance you can't afford to get sick. -- ObamaCare helps with this for people, unlike me, that had good insurance from the company that I worked for.

Things are looking pretty good for me now, although, I can't yet say that I am a cancer survivor.

  • Believe me I ME GET IT SAM.....I am going back into the hospital next Friday for another operation for a lymp node removal.I have already had chemo and radiation for it. I CANT SAY CANCER FREE OR SURVIVOR YET EITHER. I can say one day at a time.....smile.I hope you are doing well though I am I JUST KEEP PLUGGING AT IT.I will be a survivor and so will you.

Some who have not been hit by anything like this would like to mouth all the garbage,it would be interesting to see what they had to say if they were in our shoes or better still somones shoes who didn't and couldn't afford to get health insurance.IT is always amazing how they can denergrate until it happens to them, and that applies to things like food stamps also. They don't have any problem with people taking money not to farm.Anyhow I am with you SAM HANG IN THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!! LATER

18 trillion in debt and lets just keep on spending....we can always print more.

  • No, Trouble2011. Bush showed you how to manage the budget. Go into two wars on a credit card. You don't have to print money to do that.

  • We believe Trouble2011 is on to something. The Republican $18 Trillion Dance should be fixed. How; The greatest nation in the world with people going hungry every night but we can make it even greater. We can dance in the street when the ACA is repealed because; an $18 Trillion meme. Imagine the nerve of those peeps who want affordable health insurance.

Sara why work, go to school, and try hard to be a better person if the only reward is for the goverment to come in and take it and give it to someone that doesn't want to work hard, go to school, and try?

You can't answer that but you can try to spin it.

I didn't like what Bush did either and he put us a few trillion in debt, but nothing like this clown has done. It is a matter of time before the whole house of cards exploded around us. Are you ready?

  • TROUBLE......YOUR PREMISE IS OUT IN LEFT FIELD,the people you are labeling very much want to work,go to school and try.THE key that is never discussed is opportunity.THERE SCHOLLS ARE SUBSTANDARD THERE ARE NO JOBS IN THE NEIGHBERHOODS OR AREAS AND TRY MEANS YOU HAVE TO HAVE VIABLE TRANSPOTATION TO AND AREA THAT DOES HAVE JOBS. yOUR attitude about you can spin it indicates you already have your mind made up.I WOULD ASK HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO THE BACK COUNTRY OF LOUSIANA OR APPALACHIA OR THE STREETS OF DETROIT,CLEVELAND OR LA??? It is easy to cast stones, especially if you havn't lived that life.We have and unemployment level of 6.3 in Idaho one of the lowest in the country and we still have people who need our safety nets.I bet that 90% of those people seek employment.FULL EMPLOYMENT IS CONSIDERED BY MOST ECONOMIST TO BE ABOUT 5% The reality is there is no such thing.

I would like to remind you that The president inherited the recession he did not create it.This clown kept our butts from having a full blown recession of the 1929 level. To bad you can't see that but I really don't expect you to after all the GOP does nothing wrong AND CERTAIN PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS RIGHT NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO OR SAY.I should remind you it was Reagan who said DONT WORRY ABOUT DEFICITS.George bush didn't and when the bills came due he was home on the couch.

IF it blows it will be because big business and the 1% want it to.ARE YOU READY ???????? SEEING HOW YOU SEEM TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY ARE SAYING.

Look before you leap, and look for the underlying cause before you start pointing fingers and spouting inuendos............later

  • Trouble2011 needs to look down on the unemployed, because I suspect that he thinks that he is one rung in the ladder above them and wants to feel that he is at least better than someone.

It must be a hard life to hang on to that second to the last rung of the latter and very scary. So, Trouble: keep the women down, keep the Mexicans out of the country, and don't let our kids get a good education. If enough people think like you maybe you can save your position on that rung.

  • But since your are EntertainedbyIdiots you should enjoy that right CoolBreeze (Free Thinker, Hope4America, Buckshot)?

  • I'm afraid that we have drifted off the subject of this blog, which appears to be fixing ObamaCare rather than trying to repeal it.

  • Nope, my brain power, isn't on topic either for this blog.

    -- Posted by Sam_1776 on Sat, Apr 12, 2014, at 9:26 AM
  • I'm pretty sure that Wayne's brain power is also not the subject of this blog. Why don't you look Wayne up CoolBreeze? I know that you miss him and wish that every liberal posting to MHN was him, but sorry, guy I don't think he is on the blog anymore.

  • The primary flaw in this whole ACA thing is quite simple. Why do the best for yourself if the safety net is so wide? Why try to prevent injury if you know that you will not have to pay the full consequences?
