  • Yes there is apathy but I wouldn't count out the Democratic Party yet. I could be wrong but I am fed up with a lot of Republican controlled decisions in Idaho in particular in regards to education and I am volunteering for the first time in 20+ years to help get people to the polls. Maybe other Democrats feel the same as me, and maybe that will make a difference. Anyway it's worth a try.

  • Apathy isn't the whole story; Democrats might have one extra reason why we find it hard to run for a political position.

    After discussing this subject among ourselves the excuse most common was fear and concern for our safety. Some laughed the safety issue off until it was pointed out how less than inviting the Republicans are of those who have a different political philosophy.

    # The Republican Revolutionites have not defined who they are going to take the fight to; ever. It certainly isn't the US Government as they would be severely outgunned and lose on day one. State and local government is dominated by Republicans; many we're sure are revolutionites too. That leaves the democrats, liberal candidates and the much disliked RINO to revolt against.

    # Taking a page from Mr Bird, most Democrats don't have discipline to always duck Right when getting into a brush-up with an armed Republican in a local supermarket. Instinct kicks in when unstable gun owners start acting unhinged in the name of the second amendment.

    # Most of us were a lot concerned people such as dudewheresmycar might have one of those clay pigeon moments. You know the one where he mentioned he doesn't like to debate unless you are his clay pigeon. "Bird away".

    # Moral_majority was noted many times as the one most likely to take things into his own hands. Maybe it has something to do with his crazy little admission in february;

    "Believe me there is NOTHING I would enjoy more than meeting some of you face to face. The only problem is, I have extreem anger issues, and would probably not be able to control myself." by Moral_majority

    Still believe the Republican candidate is your go to guy in any election; we didn't think so but some people need the occasional reminder.

    Choo, choo Boys.
