  • I agree with repealing the Patriot Act but I'd want to put something in it's place with checks and balances so that we can have a law that balances:

    1. Protecting our citizens

    2. Controlling the government.

    Do you suppose that intelligence and law enforcement agencies (to include local authorities) will be more likely to succeed in connecting all the "dots" in a plot with fewer plot "dots" to connect?

    Armchair intel analysts and talking heads will have fewer "dots" to work with as well.

    A whole new blame game will transpire following the next terrorist attack or any international criminal activity.

    Was Frank Church ahead of his time in a good way?
