This week we give the Al Gore Award for Environmental Awareness to the City of Mountain Home, for its innovative use of passive solar energy to remove snow from the city's streets.

Plowing really isn't practical, but come on guys, would a little sand here and there hurt that much? We know a lot of citizens would like the city to develop a skating rink for winter fun, but using the streets to do it just doesn't cut it.

There is that neat little curve right on the other side of the tracks from Taco Johns that is an excellent place to slide. There are nights where I drive clear up to the other track crossing to go home just to avoid the 3 or 4 cars trying to get out of that mess.
