Having just come from Crazee Daze, I was amazed to find out that our 13 year old is not the only person in the "ME" generation. For some reason the children in this age group seem to think that the world is revolving around them. I saw so many young teens at the carnival with wads of money poked in their pockets. (Believe me some of the pants didn't have room for pockets!

Alot of them were talking about how mom and dad had given them money and told them to go "chelax"* with their friends at the carnival and come back whenever they were done. Excuse me -- what ever happen to who are you with? I'll pick you up at ???

These kids are pushing people out of the way to get to some of the rides. I haven't heard one all day use the manners I'm sure their parents taught them. Alot of the younger girls are visiting with the operators of the rides and flirting. Some are even thinking that the parking lot must be their bedrooms, the way their hanging on and kissing each other all over.

I'm not a prude but I am a firm believer in "Not everything needs to be seen by everybody" I don't want to watch "children" making out in public and I try to steer my young grandaughters away from people who are. They do not need to grow up thinking that what they see some people do is ok, they have been told that it is inappropriate and hopefully when they are older they will remember their upbringing when they are out of their parents sight.

Ask any of these young teen girls, and I have, what it's all about and they will tell you "It's all about ME".

* My new word of the day, they tell me it means "Chill Out & Relax" You learn something new everyday.
