You know there's nothing in the world better than having grandchildren. Actually I heard a saying that "If I'd of known that grandchildren were so much fun, I would have started with them first." That sounds like a great idea, until you realize that it was their parents that gave you the ability to be able to tolerate these grandchildren. I thought as my kids were growing up that if I allowed them to live long enough, I might be able to handle any other child that came along. My husband and I have a combined family, 13 in all, six of which have lived with us at one time or another and 4 boys that lived with us from birth on. So my home has always been chaotic and if that is not enough, we also took in a few stray people over the years. Sometimes you would be feeding the kids and all of a sudden realize that at least two of them, did not look familiar! We now have grandchildren who live with us and our home is still full of children, pets and chaos (which I believe I thrive on). Presently there are 3 girls and 1 boy. My grandson, that lives with us is 4 years old and his sisters are 8 yrs, 6 yrs. and 1 yr.

My grandson's name is Shawn Jr. I have taken to calling him Spawn Jr after his father! He is a born hellion. One minute he's all cuddly and then next minute he's climbing a rope into a tree and getting stuck and wanting only grandma to climb up there and save him! That might be where I left him, I don't remember...... Then we have the 8 yr old, Elia, who still can't understand why I can't tell her any first hand stories about the dinosaurs that she thinks I grew up with! Next is Emily, she's 6, and she is definitely her mothers daughter! If you want to speak to her mom, just ask Emily, she will give you the answer (same as her mothers) and she will also give it to you in the same tone! Last but not least, we have Elizabeth, who at one year already has the family attitude, I'm just debating on which one of us it is! (Psst...I think it's mine!)

There are also three more grandchildren who live not to far from us, Jimmy, 12; Victoria, 7; Cheryl 5, and believe me when they are all together, the only one who gets called by his real name is Jimmy, since he's the tallest. I think it's time for the mother part of me to just go back to numbering them instead of naming them!!!

I have one grandson living with me now and he is a handful enough for me. He just turned 1 last week and he is literally crawling up the walls!

My other 2 granddaughters live in Oklahoma and I miss them terribly.

My hat goes off to you. That is quite the houseful you got there. I can't help but wonder how you get the time to write this blog!

Great story! I'm sure you have no shortage of stories to tell!
