We're beginning to wonder if China has quietly declared war on the United States.
After all, nearly 100 million product items have had to be removed from the shelves of American businesses this year alone because the goods being sold, made in China, posed health hazards to both children and adults (and our cat and dog pets).
Let's ignore for a minute the increasingly disturbing trend of American companies to "outsource" and buy items overseas, instead of supporting Americans and American companies.
The Chinese have clearly been threatening American health, safety and welfare.
But there may be a lesson there to be learned.
Here, in the United States, when something like that happens, we hold Congressional hearings and politicians thump their breasts in outrage. And little actually ever gets fixed.
In China, they executed the head of their equivalent of the Food and Drug Administration.
Hmm. Maybe they've got something there. Sure would make our own bureaucracy a little more careful and responsive, wouldn't it?
