Almost 65 and retired. Raised by an East Coast liberal. I am also a child of the sixties.

Can anyone give a rational justification for this situation????

In the past I have been branded as a liberal because of my views on social issues. If the fact that I find the numbers in the article I'm going to link to, wrong on every possible every possible level makes me a liberal, so be it. I wear the label proudly. But remember, if you also condemn the numbers, you also will be labeled a liberal.

Yes, times are hard. I know that! I also know that there is no way any private or religious set of organizations could ever hope to deal with these kind of numbers. Now the questions are, What is the solution? Do we as a nation have any responsibility to address this issue?, and if so how?

I firmly believe the comments that will be posted will be a true reflection of the morals and ethics of todays divided society.

You should know by now there are only two different political affiliations on the Mountain Home News.

Group #1. Low down, dirty, rotten, miserable, misguided, idiots of the Liberal persuasion.

Group #2. The saintly, upstanding, completely infallible Tea Party folks.

If you are not 100% on-board with Group #2, you can't be anything other than a card carrying member of Group #1.

CJW, did you miss the part that said she held a job and supported her children? Or that she at one time owned 4 businesses? You chose to zero in on the person, I zeroed in on a real problem that you failed to address. Personal responsibility has nothing to do with the fact that growing numbers are homeless through no fault of their own. Businesses fail, but more are failing everyday leaving many more people in her situation.

If your answer to the overall situation is life sucks, deal with it, fine, but at least come out and say just that.
