My sincerest apology

Posted Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 7:52 PM

After much thought I have concluded that I have offended many on this blog, and that was not my intention. I assumed that everyone would get the "gist" of what I was trying to say. I was WRONG!

Again I apologize.

In away it does belong in a political discussion just maybe not in this topic. Death Penalty is political, prison system, and etc can all be political.

Years ago a young girl came to me and told me she was being molested by a family member. I spoke with Mom and gave her a time limit, either she reported it or I would since the girl told me the story. Mom reported it, but nothing ever happened to the guy and it was right here in Mtn Home.

I also had a neighbor who killed her little girl that was only 2 years old. Yes it was the MOM, I knew this family they came to my house, I befriended them....and that was here in Mtn Home

Mom didn't do much time in Prison once she was found

They weren't politicians but the guy was very well known here. Was in business!

Every time I think about this I want to Puke !

Cranky day, sorry. I don't like MH's approach either,

Just that child molesters are a sore subject and really don't belong in the same catagory as a politician.

I need to go back to my little corner and sip some tea, I haven't inspired anyone today.

Sorry, that did sound preachy. But if you polled most criminals, they wouldn't be republican or democrat.

They are not interested in politics. Unless you count the ones we already elected.

Shame on you HewBet, that last comment was very out of line.

Most criminals don't even vote or worry about elections. So how can you type such tripe?

It isn't even worth joking about.

We rate between 20 and 30th in the world in murder rates. I think it's common knowledge who wants to let the bad guys out of jail.

-- Posted by skeeter on Fri, Sep 16, 2011, at 5:44 AM

WE incarcerate more than anybody in the world we execute more than anybody and we still have the highest crime rate to include murders why?????? This deterent thing does not seem to be working.I am not advocating turning anyone loose but something else has got to be wrong.

Zook who are the LIBERAL judges who turn child molestors back onto the streets after just a few months of incarceration?

Who are the LEFT that by & large opposes the death penalty for murderers?

Give me some names and cases

If you came across a nest of hornets, would you walk carefully around it to avoid contact or would you jump in with a stick and face the consequences of your actions.

Sometimes the words that you use get a little wild and personal. I consider myself a pretty conservative person, but I respect the right for EVERYONE to have an opinion. I might not agree, but I will not stoop to a low level of using words that hurt someone else.

There is a level of civility that we should all go by. I am not perfect, and I have given in to some line crossing myself, but look as your posts and take a deep breath.

No Wayne, it wasn't what I wrote, but how I presented it. You know if I offend me, it has to be bad.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Sun, Sep 11, 2011, at 1:18 PM

Intolerance all the way around serves to further evil.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Sun, Sep 11, 2011, at 12:22 PM

Hope this doesn't offend, speaking of intolerance.

Mohammed entered his classroom on the first day of school.

"What's your name?" asked the teacher.

"Mohammed," he replied.

"You're in America now," replied the teacher, "So from now on you will be known as Kevin."

Mohammed returned home after school. "How was your day, Mohammed?" his mother asked.

"My name is not Mohammed. I'm in America and now my name is Kevin."

"Are you ashamed of your name? Are you trying to dishonor your parents, your heritage, your religion? Shame on you!" And his mother beat him.

Then she called his father, who beat him again.

The next day Mohammed returned to school. The teacher saw all of his bruises. "What happened to you, Kevin?" she asked.

"Well ma'am, shortly after becoming an American, I was attacked by two Arabs ..

Roy I agree with what you are saying.

It was great meeting you yesterday, enjoyed your company! To bad we didn't see some of the other bloggers at the park

What I was trying to say in the blog was that the enemy is blind hatred. The first link showed the hatred expressed towards Muslims in general, as well as hatred expressed against Sikhs because they look different. The second link was a short article by a man who lost a relative on 9-11. He couldn't understand the hatred around him and he was the one who lost a loved one.

What prompted the blog is that some people still have a hatred for Muslims, while not stopping to think it out. Muslims represent 1.6 billion people here on earth. Arab Muslims account for 15% of that 1.6 billion. Extremest Muslims account for less than 2%, I believe, of all Muslims, but many are willing to demonize an entire religion based on the actions of a few. All Muslims adhere to some parts of Sharia Law, but reject the most extreme aspects of it, just as Christians adhere to most of the teachings of the bible, but reject most of the extreme elements of it.

Extremest come all colors, religions and nationalities. To color an entire religion by the actions of a few is wrong.

It has been 10 years since the Twin Towers. I can understand the initial reaction, but after 10 years it seems to me that at least some rational thought would emerge, but sadly it seems not to have among a small percentage of our population. The sad thing is that we as Americans are viewed by the rest of the world by the actions and views of these few.

At the end of the day we will all be judged for our actions, thoughts and deeds, and that judgement will not come from this earth.

Hatred based on religion and nationality has existed since the beginning of time, this we know.

The difference today is the ability we have to basically make man extinct, but for some reason that is lost on those that are the most extreme in their hate. Christian, Jew, Muslim, you name it.

Mike, Lamont, and anyone else who reads these blogs who are around our age old enough to remember a time in America and the slurs used. Not just towards Blacks, but against any group perceived as different. The Italians, Mexicans, Germans, Irish, Chinese, Japanese, Catholics, Mormons, Evangelicals.

If those of us that are old enough to remember do not raise our voices and speak up against this blind hatred, it will continue, just that the consequences are far worse now.

A poorly thought out blog from yesterday. When I really thought about, the way it was done was offensive to even me.

What am I missing? I'm not sure what you are talking about Roy.
