Jelly BeansPosted Sunday, October 28, 2012, at 10:19 AM
My niece's wedding cake with real flowers.
Jelly Beans are straight sugar with artificial flavorings and color. I don't care, they make a great treat once in a while. I pick out the black ones with the licorice flavor. They don't seem as sugary as the others do. Sometimes it is just nice to think about something that gives us a simple pleasure such as choosing your favorite jelly bean from the candy bag. I invite you to submit your favorite flavors with a comment or two. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
Walking the Fence Line ![]() - Archives - Blog RSS feed - Comments RSS feed - Send email to Bonnie Bird - Login Fixing fence is the one of the hardest jobs on a ranch. I no longer live on a ranch, but I do know what hard work is. Fences are everyone's concern, but nowadays, the "hole" is always your neighbor's side not your own. It used to be that you would respect your neighbor and mend the fence together. If their cows got in your field, a simple phone call resolved the problem. You might even saddle up your own horse and help them gather them up. We need more people who are willing to roll their sleeves up and fix the fence regardless of who your neighbor is.
There are people in this country who need to be reminded that a fence is like the way you should conduct your life. Your posts should be straight and neat. The wire needs to be stretched tight and your gate might be closed, but can still be easily opened. And most of all, we can all saddle
up together and ride the range, it won't matter if you have an Appaloosa, Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred. The cows still have to be gathered, fences have to be fixed, and the range is a wide open space of opportunity for us all.

Apparently, no one eats jelly beans.
I'm not a big jelly bean fan...but a big slice of that cake with a glass of milk. That would be right on the mark.
The cake was so-so.
I like the Licorice ones too!! Make me think of my Aunt Joann. Lately I kinda stick to the sugar free gummi bears!
I do like gummi bears too.... I'd say I don't really care for Jelly Beans, but seems when I'm making Easter Baskets, I manage to eat my share of them. But I on the other hand, stay away from Licorice. To me, something cute and colorful should be fruity, .... black licorice is not good, no matter what you say!
I don't like gummi bears. They have a tendency to stick to my teeth.
I am glad that you are back Jessie, I have missed you.
I think the cake is very pretty. I only eat jelly beans once in a great while. I'm stuck on Good & Plenty's...... I have to have them or in place of them Milk Duds. lol!
I like yellow and pink...but prefer gummi bears or DOTS. They stick to my teeth but they are great comfort food.
Very pretty cake!
